Thank you for your Position against crate training

adminThanks Warren

Hi Warren. I just want to happily cheer you for your stance against crate training.

I trained all my dogs without crates, didn’t even consider it because I never felt it necessary. But it seems these days everyone is advocating crate training.

I love my babies and want them to be happy and want to provide for them what they need, not just what is easiest for me.

It seems house training a dog is easier than training humans not to use crates for housetraining.

Thank you so much for helping the dogs.

Thank you so much

Dear Warren,

Thank you SO MUCH! We rescued a senior beagle hound mix named “Snoopy” a year ago February. He is a wonderful dog and has given us so much fun and love. He is a “senior” but so are we, so we match well.

He was on a hypoallergenic food which he really only ate to keep himself alive. So I changed him to Purina One for Senior Dogs after listening to your program and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! He just LOVES it and is doing so much better in every way! He is even shedding a LOT LESS, is more active and alert, and doesn’t have the elimination problems he had before.

So thanks again, Warren!

Thanks to you, I can keep my wonderful cat

Hi Warren,

This is Jana from Daly City, California. Thanks to you, I can keep my wonderful cat. I wanted to thank you for the information you gave me a few months ago that helped me manage my 1.5 year old female Maine Coon’s clawing of furniture and rugs. The clawing is now down to about 5% of what it used to be, and I am grateful, because I don’t think I could have kept her unless I found a way to handle this problem.

You told me that cats are very tuned in to odors. The way I understood it, you said that my cat is actually spreading her scent when she is clawing something. You also mentioned that she needs to have new smells in her environment for stimulation.

I keep coconut oil in my home, and I had a thought that perhaps I could use the scent of the coconut oil to communicate to her that I don’t want her to scratch on the furniture or the rugs. So I spread the coconut oil in these areas, and she immediately avoided those areas completely. I used to have to spread more oil every couple of weeks, but now I don’t spread any oil at all, and now she scratches her scratching post! Perhaps once a week, at most, I catch her clawing the rug a little. However, she does it much less aggressively than before, and I don’t see any evidence on the rug of her clawing. I have not seen her claw the furniture at all since I used the coconut oil.

So, thank you, and I look forward to calling you next time I have a cat challenge.

Thanks and update on Tuxedo

adminThanks Warren

Hi Warren,

Thank you for helping me get through the horrible decision of having to amputate Tuxedo’s hind leg.

You were so kind on the radio and offered such hope that he would do fine as a tripod. It has been 4 weeks since his surgery and he is doing amazingly well. He is able to jump onto the sofa and parts of the kitty condo with ease and has totally ignored the 2 step stools I purchase and placed next to my bed and jumped onto the rattan nightstand instead.

Felix (his younger brother) was distant for a couple of weeks, never aggressive, but now they are back to sleeping together, licking each other’s heads, and headbonking. Hopefully, soon Tux can chase Felix.

I hope my story gets to your listeners and helps them know that even if it comes to having a leg amputation our pets do OK and are still themselves and can lead a quality pet life.

Thanks again for everything you do!!!!

A Huge Thank You

Warren: Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your words of comfort regarding the loss of our Niles. We have taken your advice. My husband and I are remembering Niles and laughing at all his wonderful antics over the last 10 years.

Boy, they really get into your heart and soul. A huge thank you for being there for me on his final day. As I was driving to the veterinary hospital, you were on the radio giving me strength. I’ll never forget that.

Thank you from woman whose husband left for Afghanistan

adminThanks Warren

Dear Warren,

I want to thank you so much for your wonderful words of advice.

My husband left Sept 11th for Afghanistan, and once again my 2 cairn terriers were getting depressed and moping around. I took your advice, we purchased new toys, dishes and puppy blankets for the pups before dad left.

When Sept 11 came around my husband gave the pups their new toys and the blanket (he slept with for a few days before hand.so that his scent was all over it).

For a few days after he left I was expecting the depression of the dogs, and it did come, but this time I took them on different walks, rides in Dad’s truck. No picnics yet, but we are going to have a play date with my sister in laws pup soon.

The moping around only lasted a few days instead of a few weeks..so thank you thank you thank you..

Its going to be a long 8 months but we are going to be just fine. And the pups share and love the blanket that has ”Daddy ” all over it.

God bless you and all the work you do.

Love Your Warmth

adminThanks Warren

Just love your warmth and love and knowledge that comes through the air waves.

Logged on because of the pet food recall, but wanted to take this opportunity to say how great I think you are.

I love what you are doing

adminThanks Warren

Hi Warren, I love what you are doing for animals and for the people they own.:) I wish there were more people out there like you. I recommend you to EVERYONE I know, in the hopes that you will be around for a long, long time.

Thanks a Million

Dear Warren,

We have been listening to you for 20 years.

We just lost our wonderful cat on her 23rd birthday. When people ask how she lived such a long and wonderful life, I tell them that we fed her Purina ONE dry food and a particular canned food and listened to your radio advice.

Your common sense advice and gentle ways helped us through any problems we have encountered with Holly and her siblings Georgie (15 year old cat) and Iris (8 year old dog).

All of our pets are rescue animals and although we never called, we picked up many helpful hints along the way.

I know Holly has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and we’ll see her there some day.

We adore you Warren!!!!

Loving your pets & showing them

Dear Warren

I’ve listened to you for years and thought you were a nut until I fell in love with my two “grandcats”. Now I sing to them and play with them. We’re happy and you were right all along!
