I guess so. A dog will hide bones for another time, and remember where they are when he wants them. I don't think it's a thought process as much as instinct to hide food he does'nt want at the moment but may need later.

Not only Do they plan ahead, cats anyway can tell time!

Yes I think they do. My dog is big on hiding toys and food so he can go back and retrieve it later.
