I'm anxious to see what folks have to say about this. Here's a quick summation of what I think: I don't believe that God doesn't give us everything we need to be happy in heaven, and I NEED MY DOGS! It's the only way I can bear the thought of my babies passing on before I do.
I don't think they have souls in the way that humans do, but i don't see why God would make so many animals without having a special place in heaven for them. I guess we'll just have to find out when we get there. :)
They Do have souls .....I will tell you a story ..two years ago, I lost my beloved Lhasa Teddy to a very swift and deadly illness ,.I was crushed, I felt worse about losing this single life than anything in recent memory . The night he went to the rainbow bridge I was beside myself and typed in Lhasa Apso on the computer and along comes a breeder selling a Lhasa pup named TEDDY ????? .Well what are the odds? I saw him and out of a litter of babies he rushes to me and almost jumps in my ams .He looks exactly like Teddy and has the same mannerisims he even scratches himself on the same table and at times the same quite nasty personality .also the same ear infection ???? Well the hurt did not leave untill I saw him in church almost two years after his passing I AM NOT CRAZY I truly saw him and I know He is with GOD and his soul is well .He have to leave me and sent another to help ease the pain.This is all true ,and as I am writing this I know how unbelievable it sounds ....PS ,we call the little guy Eddy
A great question--I also don't believe animals have souls in the same way as humans do, however, they do have spirits. We all have the same creator. God had to breathe His spirit into them to give them life, and as such, they are unique individuals with unique personalities just like humans, as well as a unique spirit all their own. Not certain exactly how an ominipotent and wise God worked out the details, but those animals we knew on this earth, we will see again someday.
This was never a question until some stupid saint(I'm Catholic), probably St. Augustine who didn't like animals said they don't. So that question was answered by someone from around the 12th century. Hopefully we have progressed! But what about those souls at L,A. County shelters? Nothing seems to have happen to those men(who I am quite sure don't have souls). They should have been criminally charged and yet nothing seems to have happen...what gives?
