My cat "Angel Puss" chose me. When I went to the shelter to look around there was one huge room called the "Kitty Hilton." Nice room with cat condos, toys, no cages and everyone got along as well as can be expected. As soon as I entered I bent down to see some of them and my girl jumped on my back. Stayed with me while I was looking at the others. I went to other parts of the shelter and when I came back there she was waiting for me. I knew she was the one and she lived to be 18yrs. old. What a sweetheart. My Snowgurl was chosen by me as she was left in a box outside a shelter but I liked to think it was fate and we chose each other.
When we went to the the breeder to see the Pomeranian puppies, there were two available, one male and one female. The female was wild and wouldn't shut up(!), and the male was quiet, and a bit skittish. I was able to pick up the male first, and put him in my partner's arms. They took to each other right away, it was magical. The breeder could see that the puppy was comfortable with us, and the fact that there were no kids in our home to hurt him, so we bought him and never looked back. We fell in love with him right away, it didn't take long for him to trust us and be comfortable in our home. It's as if we were sent for each other by God. Now he's our baby.
I went to a cat rescue where they let the cats roam in a room. I found a couple cats that I wanted to think about and as I was on my way out, I spotted something white out of the corner of my eye. It was her paw reaching down to me from her crate above. I had completely missed her. Turns out she had just gotten there the night before and hadn't come out of her crate yet. I picked her up and it was an instant bond. When I asked about her, I found out her owners surrendered her back to the rescue because of some behavior problems. Well I knew how to handle them (thanks to Warren's show) and it's been a match made in heaven. I've had her for 3 years and she's awesome!
