I am having a problem with a very spoiled rotten cat. I cannot get him to stay off the counters, out of the trash can and out of people food. No matter what I have tried, he is very stubborn and will not listen. I have tried spraying him with water, using a rolled up newspaper, and even time out. Nothing works. He is very sweet and we just love him, but he will not listen. Any advice?

Instead of focusing on all of the bad stuff your cat is doing, how about encouraging the cat with new and exciting things to explore. Try some cardboard boxes, be creative put one on top of the other or cut holes in them and rub them with organic cat nip change them every few days. On the counter try using a product called sticky sheets - http://stickysheets.com . Also try the air horns available at http://thepetshow.com or chair carpet savers turned upside down...also for one week leave a paper towel soaked with bitter yuck on top the the garbage......Warren

The airhorn works. Warren did send me one once when I called the show. I used it with my cat who has a bad habit of crying ALL THE TIME !!! It stopped his bad habit quickley.
