The Pet Show Blog 2
WARREN THE PET SHOW BLOG II
It’s Friday June 25th and I’m getting ready for tomorrow’s broadcast, both my local radio show on KRLA in Los Angeles and my national show heard in scores of markets in the U.S. and Canada will be airing live from AMERICA’S FAMILY PET EXPO at the Fairplex in Pomona, Ca. It’s the world largest pet and pet product expo, with over 1,000 animals in attendence including rabbits, llamas, goats, sheep, horses, reptiles, birds, rats and more. I am looking forward to meeting and answering questions for my listeners. It always amazes me how everyone carries photos of their pet for me to see. So if you’re in L.A., come on out. The info is on my website www.thepetshow.com .
It seems that the majority of blogGers agreed that memorial services are right for some pet owners and not for others. We’ll discuss this more in the future, but if you have any comments blog away.
NEED YOUR HELP
As many of you remember. In the summer of 2003 I was involved in the Rescue and Rehabilitation of close to two hundred Chihuahuas and Chi mixes from The County of Los Angeles Dept. of Animal Control. Story on my website HERE.
I received a call from a friend of mine, a fellow animal rescuer, and we need your help. More Chihuahuas need your help. She recently rescued 17 dogs and needs fostering for about 11 more. If you are involved with a humane or rescue group in the Southwest and you can help with some of these dogs please let me know. These Chihuahua’s will need special care -- many are feral and will need lots of TLC. I will be personally heading to Arizona to evaluate these dogs for myself. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
Recently asked question of me. WARREN DID YOU REALLY TRAIN DOGS FOR THE HEADS OF THE MAFIA FAMILIES IN WHEN YOU LIVED IN N.Y/
YES I DID AND YOU CAN REST ASSURE THEIR PETS WERE TRAINED WELL, I EVEN TRIED TO TEACH ONE DOG HOW TO MAKE PASTA. I write about them in my autobiography “MEMOIRS OF A PET THERAPIST”.
We'll get some photos up on the blog soon. Remember, you can always email me photos of your pets. Check out the Guest Wall and the Centerfolds on my website.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY---DO CATS DREAM?
This is still one of the great unanswered questions. Most owners have long had sneaking suspicions about feline sleep time imagery as they watch paws that twitch, legs that run and whiskers which flutter wildly. But scientists are only now confirming that the odds that cats do really dream are indeed quite good. Some recent studies seem to indicate that cats enter into REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, the type of sleep during which, in humans dreams generally take place. DO YOUR PETS DREAM AND WHAT ABOUT?

If we interested in helping to foster the Chihuahuas, how do we get in touch with the proper people, and the specific information/requirements?
Hi Gail,
Thank you for your big heart! The contact's email address is:
nadia@goldenbonepets.com
Let us know if you have any problem in contacting her. Nadia is an angel who helped save many of the Baldwin Park Chihuahuas, as well.
Hi Warren --
Speaking of chihuahuas, I just rescued Tino. I have used your advice and all has been well for the last 3 months. I was just offered a full-time great job; I have been freelancing for 7 years and this is a good opportunity for me, but I am worried about Tino. I thought I could confine him to th ekitchen/laundry room for three days a week and pay someone to walk him midday, and then board him for two days, but it will cost a fortune. I just want him to be happy, and this is really worrying me. I am sure there are people out there who worry about the same thing. He is still not trained enough to give him the run of the house, and I wil NOT leave him outside all day. I need your advice on what the best solution is. Thanks!
